Quick Start Guide for the Webex App

Introduction

Even if you're away from your desk phone or you're working remotely, you can still make and receive calls using the Webex app on your computer or mobile device.

Installation

If the Webex app isn’t currently installed on your college-owned computer, it is available in Software Center for Windows computers or Self Service for macOS computers.

If you want to use the app to place or receive work calls on your personal computer, get started by downloading the app from https://www.webex.com/downloads.html, installing it, and signing in with your college email address.

Learning to Use the App

The attached three-page Quick Start Guide for the Webex app helps you learn about each feature of the app and how to use them. That guide is attached to this article as a PDF file that you can view or download. It contains illustrated step-by-step procedures for common tasks you might perform using the app.

This article also features links to articles in our Knowledge Base that detail some common tasks separately.

Visual learners can also watch video tutorials for various features of the Webex app. To view these videos, navigate to academy.webex.com/learn, and then select Academy On Demand from the ribbon near the top of the page. Notice the list of topics on the right-hand side of the Academy on Demand page. In that list, scroll down to find Webex Calling and select it to view the list of tutorials.

For Call Queue Staff

You can use the app even if your job involves answering calls distributed in a call queue. For more information, refer to this help article from Webex or this Pima-specific Knowledge Base article: Using Your Webex App in a Call Queue.
