Clearing Browser Cache and Cookies

Clearing a browser's cache of website data and images can frequently resolve anomalous or glitchy browser behavior. This article includes instructions for clearing the cache on these browsers in use by the Pima College community: 

Google Chrome
Mozilla Firefox
Opera
Microsoft Edge
Safari for MacOS
Safari for iOS
Google Chrome for iOS
Google Chrome for Android

 

Google Chrome (Windows/MacOS)

  1. In the upper-right corner, next to your profile avatar, click the three vertical dots
  2. Click More tools > Clear browsing data.
  3. At the top, on the Time range drop-down menu, click All time to delete everything.
  4. Check the boxes for Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.
  5. Click Clear data.

 

Mozilla Firefox (Windows/MacOS)

  1. In the upper-right corner, click the menu button  and then click History.
  2. Click Clear Recent History.
  3. From the Time range to clear drop-down menu, click Everything.
  4. Under History, select both the Cache and Cookies options, and then click OK.

 

Opera (Windows/MacOS)

  1. Press Ctrl+H (Cmd+H on MacOS) to open the History page.
  2. In the upper-right corner, click Clear browsing data.
  3. Select Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.
  4. Click Clear data.

 

Microsoft Edge (Windows)

  1. In the upper-right corner, click the three horizontal dots  and then click Settings.
  2. In the column on the left, click Privacy, search, and services.
  3. To the right of Clear browsing data now, click Choose what to clear.
  4. From the Time range drop-down menu, click All time.
  5. Check the boxes for Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files, and then click Clear now.

 

Safari (MacOS)

  1. On the Menu Bar, click Safari, and then click Preferences.
  2. Click the Privacy tab.
  3. Click Manage Website Data.
  4. Click Remove All, then Remove Now.
  5. Click Done.

 

Safari (iOS)

  1. Open the Settings app on your device.
  2. Scroll down until you can tap the Safari icon.
  3. Scroll down until you can tap the Clear History and Website Data link.
  4. A pop-up window clarifies that this affects all devices on your iCloud account. Tap Clear History and Data.

 

Google Chrome (iOS)

  1. In the lower-right corner, tap the three horizontal dots .
  2. Tap Settings and then tap Privacy.
  3. Tap Clear Browsing Data.
  4. Set the Time Range to All Time and ensure there are check marks for Cached Images and Files and Cookies, Site Data.
  5. At the bottom of the screen, tap Clear Browsing Data.
  6. A pop-up window asks you to verify the data removal. Tap Clear Browsing Data again.
  7. Tap Done.

 

Google Chrome (Android)

  1. In the upper-right corner, tap the three vertical dots .
  2. Tap History, and then tap Clear Browsing Data.
  3. Set the Time Range to All Time and ensure there are check marks for Cached Images and Files and Cookies and Site Data.
  4. At the bottom of the screen, tap Clear Data.
  5. A pop-up window asks you to verify the data removal. Tap Clear Data again.
