Introduction
This article provides an overview of the self-enrollment process for Duo Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) at Pima Community College. Follow these steps to access the portal and select your preferred authentication method.
Getting Started with Duo MFA Using Self-Enrollment
-
Access the Portal: In a new tab or window, open the Duo Self-Enrollment Portal.
Tip: Keep this window open to refer back to these instructions during the setup.
- Begin Setup: If this is your first time registering a device with Duo, the Welcome to Duo Security screen will appear.

- Select Next. The Select an option page will open, displaying the available authentication methods.

- Choose a Verification Method: Review the options below to determine which method best fits your needs.
- Duo Mobile App (Recommended): This is an application available for Android or iOS (iPhone and iPad). It is the most secure option for users with a smartphone or tablet and a data connection. (For setup steps, see the "Duo MFA - Enrolling the Duo Mobile App" article.)
- Security Key (Fob): A hardware "fob" is an alternative if you do not have a smartphone or a device capable of receiving SMS texts. You must first request a Hardware Token from IT. (For setup steps, see the "Duo MFA - Enrolling a Duo Security Key" article.)
- Phone Number (SMS or Voice): Use this to receive a text code on a basic cell phone or a voice call on a landline. This is the least secure option and is only available as a temporary solution while waiting for a hardware fob or if a smartphone is unavailable. (For setup steps, see the "Duo MFA - Enrolling a Phone Number in Duo" article.)
