This article lists common issues encountered when resetting a MyPima password and provides actionable steps to resolve them.
You can use a password reset as an alternative method to access a new account.

Password Requirements
To successfully reset your password, ensure it meets the following criteria:
- Must be between 15 and 127 characters long.
- Must include at least one letter.
- May include special characters, excluding:
- Colons ( : )
- Non-English characters (e.g., accented letters or non-Latin scripts).
Avoid using common words or personal information to increase your password security.
Student-Specific Solutions
Red Text Appears Under the Password Box
Your password does not meet the standard requirements. Review the Password Requirements section above and try again.
Invalid Entry for the Username Field
You have entered an invalid character. Ensure your username does not contain capitalized letters or special characters.
Error: The server did not find a current representation for the target resource.
This error indicates a deeper issue with your account and requires further investigation. If you receive this error message, Request Account Support for further assistance.
Error: Account Not Found
The system cannot locate your account. Verify that you are entering the correct username. If you are unsure of your username, retrieve it using your personal email address via the Forgot Username tool.
Error: Access Denied
A permissions issue is preventing the password reset process from completing. Please Request Account Support.
Error: Page Not Found
This error occurs if you:
- Attempt to reset your password using the Chrome browser on iOS. You receive this error because Chrome on iOS is unsupported. Use Safari on iOS instead.
- Select the Set your password link more than once; it is a one-time-use link. Use generate a new link to reset your password.
I am not receiving the password reset email
- Search your inbox for emails from PCC-Identity@pima.edu. Be sure to check your spam and trash folders.
- If the email is still missing, Request Account Support.
I don’t know my A Number
Check your personal email for your college acceptance letter, which contains your A number. If you cannot locate the acceptance email, Request Account Support.
Error: The request was syntactically correct but its content is semantically invalid.
This error can indicate a range of issues with your account, from a password that doesn’t meet our requirements to deeper account problems. If you receive this error message, Request Account Support.
Staff-Specific Solutions
Error: SailPoint is configured to require security questions...
You have not set up your security questions, or there is an issue with Duo authentication.
If you forgot your password and see this error, Request Account Support.
Security question answers must be at least 4 characters long.
I’ve Forgotten Both My Password and Security Questions
The IT Service Desk must verify your identity before assisting you with resetting your password. Please Request Account Support.
