This guide provides step-by-step instructions to map file shares on macOS.

Requirements

  • GlobalProtect VPN (if working remotely): Ensure you are connected to the VPN before attempting to map file shares.
  • File Share Path: Ensure you have the file share path noted.

Instructions

  1. Open the "Connect to Server" Tool
    • Open Finder on your Mac.
    • In the top-left menu bar, select Go, then choose Connect to Server.

  2. Enter the Server Address
    • In the Server Address field, type the desired server address in the format: smb://<ServerAddress>/<FolderPath>
    • Click the + icon to add the server to your favorites for quick future access.

    • Examples:
      • Y-Drive: smb://nas-1/pcc-users/YourUserName
      • Other File Share:smb://nas-1/ABECC
  3. Sign In
    • Enter your Pima Username and Password when prompted.
    • Check the box to Remember your credentials if desired, so your login details are stored in your Mac’s Keychain.

  4. Complete Mapping
    • Once signed in, the shared folder will appear in Finder under Shared.
