Office 365 Error - "You don't have the required permissions to access this org"

Details

When attempting to log into an Office 365 application, you may receive the following error message:

  • "You don't have the required permissions to access this org"

This error indicates that you do not have the required permissions to access the application.

Solution

Students and Staff are restricted from certain Office 365 applications, including, but not limited to:

  • Microsoft Teams
    • Restricted for Students, Available for Staff
  • Microsoft Forms
  • Microsoft OneDrive
  • Skype for Business

If this error occurs when attempting to access a standard app like Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, please submit a Report a Software Problem ticket and let us know which application you are trying to access.
