Details
Verify Network Connections
For Wired Networks:
- Inspect the Ethernet cable connected to the computer.
- Plug the Ethernet cable securely into the network port on the wall and the network port on the computer.
- Look for green or amber LED lights near the network port on the computer. Active lights indicate an active physical connection.
For Wireless Networks:
- Ensure the wireless network adapter is enabled on the computer.
- Verify the computer is connected to the appropriate Wi-Fi network:
- PCC ACCESS
- For PCC-owned devices only. Provides access to internal resources such as Banner, staff printers, and shared drives.
- Pima-Guest
- Available for general public use.
- If connection issues persist, disconnect from the Wi-Fi network, select the network from the list of available networks, choose Forget Network, and then reconnect to the Wi-Fi network.
Restart the Device
To restart the computer and refresh network configurations, follow these steps:
- Save all open documents and close active applications.
- Shut down the computer completely.
- Wait 30 seconds before powering on the computer again.
- Log in to the computer and test the network connection.
Verify Web Browser Settings
To clear potential application issues, follow these steps:
- Open a different web browser to determine if the connection issue is limited to one specific application.
- Clear the cache and cookies on the web browser to remove outdated data.
- Disable active Virtual Private Network (VPN) software unless the VPN connection is specifically required for PCC resources.
