Any software that has not previously been purchased by, or installed on any PCC computers, or that has never previously been reviewed and vetted by Enterprise Service Management and/or Information Technology Security teams, is considered "new" software.
If you're unsure whether the software you're requesting is considered existing, authorized software, there is a service called "Request Authorized Software" that contains a list of the most commonly used PCC software. We recommend first reviewing that service, and if the software you're requesting is not listed there, then proceed with using this service for "new" software.
Requests for new software undergo several types of reviews, potentially, depending on the business use of the software, whether it's cloud-based or installed locally (on your computer), the type of data handled by the software, and other factors.
