Overview
If you are seeking a complete course review, please submit an Accessibility Review ticket.
For videos that are intended to be viewed by students and the public, ADR can add captions and, if necessary, audio descriptions. By law, captions are required for all videos shared with students and the public. Auto-generated captions are not considered Accessible.
For college-owned YouTube videos, ADR provides the SRT file for the creator to upload our custom-created captions. For videos hosted in Panopto, ADR edits the original video. If the video is housed anywhere else (such as Vimeo, Google Drive, etc), ADR provides an open-captioned version.
Videos contain attribution when they are remediated with captions and the content was not created/owned by the college. Audio descriptions are provided as an individualized non-employee accommodation. Sometimes the remediation, when suitable, will be a transcript provided separately from the video, rather than an audio description synced with the video.
