Introduction
This guide provides step-by-step instructions to map file shares on Windows.
Requirements
- GlobalProtect VPN (if working remotely): Ensure you are connected to the VPN before attempting to map file shares.
- File Share Path: Ensure you have the file share path noted.
Instructions
- Open File Explorer
- Click on the folder icon in the taskbar or search for File Explorer in the search bar.
- Open the Map Network Drive Tool
- In File Explorer, right-click on This PC in the left sidebar.
- Select Map network drive… from the menu.

- Enter the File Path
- In the pop-up window, enter the file path in the Folder field.
- Example: Employee Y drives are located at
\\nas-1\pcc-users\yourusername
.
- Use the Drive drop-down menu to choose an unused drive letter.

- Click Finish.
- If prompted, enter your network credentials:
- Pima username and password.
- Check the box to Remember my credentials.

- Verify Access
- The mapped drive will open automatically if successful.
- It will also appear in File Explorer under This PC and reconnect at startup.
