Accessing the Pima IT ChatBot

Introduction

The IT ChatBot is designed to help with basic hardware and software troubleshooting, as well as provide access to relevant resources. You can ask it questions like, “My keyboard is broken, I need a new one,” or “My mouse is not working.” The IT ChatBot pulls information from Pima’s Knowledge Base articles and trusted public sources to quickly provide answers or direct you to the appropriate requests and forms.

Instructions

  1. Open Google Chat from your browser or app.

    • Navigate to chat.google.com

      or

    • Within Gmail select "Chat" in the top left corner of the page.

  2. Select the New Chat button located in the top left corner.

  3. In the section that says "Add 1 or more people", search for “IT ChatBot.” The bot will be displayed with the Pima College logo.Gif of adding the chatbot by selecting New Chat then searching "IT ChatBot"

  4. Select the bot from the list to open a chat window. The account will look similar to any other employee, but with "App" next to the name.

    • Optional: Once the chat is open, click on the three dots (⋮) in the top right corner of the chat window and select "Pin" to easily access the bot in the future.Example of pinning the chat bot

  5. To interact with the bot, type your question or issue into the chat window and press Enter.

  6. The bot may ask clarifying questions or respond with answers pulled from Pima’s Knowledge Base articles or trusted public sources.
