Banner Error - 504 Gateway Time-out

When attempting to access Banner, the system may display a "504 Gateway Time-out" error message.

To resolve the 504 Gateway Time-out error, follow these steps:

  1. Clear the cache and cookies in your browser, restart the browser, and attempt to access Banner again. If clearing the general browser cache does not resolve the issue, proceed to step 2.
  2. Navigate directly to the Banner landing page at [External Link] https://banner.pima.edu/.
  3. Clear the specific site data and cookies using the instructions for your specific browser below:
    1. Google Chrome
      1. Select the site settings button located directly to the left of the URL bar.

      2. Select Cookies and site data.
      3. Select Manage on-device site data.
      4. Delete all listed entries, and then click Done.
    2. Mozilla Firefox
      1. Select the site security lock icon located directly to the left of the URL bar.

      2. Select Clear Cookies and site data.
      3. Select the Remove button.
  4. Restart the browser or restart the computer if the error persists.
  5. In some instances, you may need to repeat these site-data clearing steps up to 3 times before the Banner connection issue is resolved.
  6. If these steps do not resolve the issue after 3 attempts, please report a Banner Problem depending on the application you are accessing:
    1. Report a Problem to Student Information Systems 
    2. Report a Finance Systems Problem 
    3. Report an HR Systems Problem
