This article will instruct you on how to back up saved bookmarks from the Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Microsoft Edge, Opera and Microsoft Internet Explorer browsers.

Details:

Chrome

  1. From inside Chrome, select the three vertical dots icon in the top right corner. Scroll over "Bookmarks" and then select "Bookmark Manager".
  2. Once inside the Bookmark Manager, click the three vertical dots icon in the top right corner once more and select Export bookmarks.
  3. Keep track of where the file is saving to and what it's called then click "Save."

Edge

  1. From inside Edge, select the 3 horizontal dots icon in the top right corner. Select the "Settings" option in the menu.
  2. Inside the Settings menu, select the "Import from another browser" option then select the "Export to file".
  3. Keep track of where the file is saving to and what it's called then click "Save."

Firefox

  1. From inside Firefox, select the three horizontal bars icon in the top right corner, navigate to Library > Bookmarks and select the "Show all bookmarks" option.
  2. Once the bookmark library opens, click on the two arrow icon in the top center that reads "Import and Backup". In the menu, Select "Export Bookmarks to HTML..."
  3. Keep track of where the file is saving to and what it's called then click "Save."

Internet Explorer

  1. From inside internet explorer, click on the Star icon in the top right corner of the browser to open the bookmark manager. 
  2. Click the downward-facing arrow to the right of the "Add to favorites" button and select the "Import and export..." option from the menu.
  3. On the wizard that appears, select "Export to a file". Click "Next >". Check "Favorites" and click "Next >" ensure the top-level "Favorites" folder is selected and click "Next >". Keep track of where the file is saving to and what it's called then click "Export". Once the wizard certifies that everything has been exported click "Finish"

Opera

  1. From inside Opera, select the heart-shaped icon on the far left slightly above center. In the bookmarks menu that opens, click the "Show full bookmarks view."
  2. In the full bookmarks view, click the "Import/Export..." button at the bottom left and select "Export Bookmarks".
  3. Keep track of where the file is saving to and what it's called then click "Save."

Safari

  1. From inside Safari, Select the "File" menu from the top and select "Export Bookmarks". Keep a record of where they are exporting to and what the file will be called and click "Save."
