Introduction
LastPass is a password management tool that provides a secure and convenient way to store and manage passwords. This software allows you to save your passwords in an encrypted format that can only be accessed with a master password known only to you. This article provides the steps to install and log into the extension.
Requirements
- A LastPass activation email must be sent by the LastPass admins before you can activate your account.
- If you did not receive an email, or if your activation link has expired, please submit a Lastpass Service Request ticket.
Instructions
LastPass is REQUIRED for sharing passwords. Sharing passwords in plain text is NOT ALLOWED and is a violation of our security policy.
LastPass Setup
- Begin by installing the LastPass extension from the Chrome Web Store.
- Log into your Pima email and click on the LastPass account setup email sent by your supervisor.
- Set up your master password making sure to follow the password creation guidelines listed on the page.
- It is important to note that the master password CANNOT be recovered if lost.
- Once your master password has been set, you will be required to set up two-factor authentication.
- We recommend that you use Duo MFA, but you can use any LastPass-approved MFA app.
- Log into the LastPass Extension by clicking the LastPass icon from the extensions list.
- Finally, access your password vault by clicking the LastPass icon from the extensions list then select Open My Vault.
