"Password must be changed" message on borrowed library devices

Details

  • This is referring to the password used to sign into the laptop, not your MyPima/Student Email password.
  • This password change can be done directly on the laptop and does not require IT or library staff to update the password. 

 

 

 

Solution

Procedure

  1. On the screen displaying the "Password must be changed before signing in" message, press OK.
  2. On the following screen, your current password will be automatically filled into the top box. Enter a new password in the second box, and then confirm it.

  3. Press Enter on the keyboard to set the new password.
  4. You may encounter the following error stating that the password does not meet the requirements. Try making the password longer, adding special characters, removing any personal details like your name or date of birth, and ensuring the password is different from any passwords you've used before.

  5. After setting a new password that meets the requirements, you can now sign into the laptop with the new password.
